It seems like scalability is all the talk these days among crypto currency investors and enthusiasts... Bitcoin, Ethereum, as well as several other blockchain based digital currencies have had their own share of struggles and challenges in these areas.
Recently, I've been devoting more time to studying steem.io and its wealth of information on where it sees the road ahead and I must say that I'm pleased with what I've discovered.
Just the other day, I was looking over the site and how the team appears to be ambitious to offer greater levels of of security of Steem transactions and communications via ring signature technology and beyond.
I believe this will be a growth process and I think we will see some great applications in the future!
I went on to learn that Steem will likely offer the world more options for messaging services through blockchain based encryption technology. Again, this can be found in large part on their website and I've even blogged about it , as well.
As awesome as that seems to be, I'm now learning that Steem might not have to deal with the usual scalability concerns that most blockchains have had to contend with.....and this will potentially open the door to more flexibility with new and existing applications, as well as financial transactions.
If you check out steem's site on "user documentation", which I will provide below as my source, you will see that the Steem blockchain operates at a "high level of performance" and could possibly handle more traffic and users than Reddit, if it too were built on a blockchain.
I find all of this to be very encouraging as we look to the future and because of this, I'm feeling fairly optimistic right now.
