It isn't easy to start from the bottom.  Starting last year had its advantages and disadvantages.  The platform wasn't as well developed.  The follow button didn't work, you couldn't see when people posted comments on your post, at first there was no slider bar for voting so it was all or nothing for the big whales.  The list goes on and on.  What we did establish was a following and the friendships we formed.

In today's pool meeting we talk about Hive account@randowhale , ChainBB, Hive account@minnowbooster , Hive account@steemvoter

Building up the power overtime from nothing starts kind of slow but you want to be as smart about it as possible and do what the people who have more experience are doing.   I see so many people just leaving their accounts dormant when they could set up Hive account@steemvoter for free and at least be earning a little bit of curation rewards overtime.   Someday that could end up being worth a lot.
