Hahhaha, This response actually made me legit laugh out loud. The last paragraph was hilarious.
I know what you mean big time. I did see that situation with Louis Thomas. He really had a good thing going for awhile because he was able to chop down videos and was posting pretty frequently. And you are right ...... as soon as he got flagged suddenly he lost faith. got flagged and peaced out. Simps been dumping bags on her for years. I will hand it to her though..... she worked really hard on some of her crypto videos and actually knows what she is talking about. I respect her. Early on she made a lot from just the traveling stuff but she took things to another level with the crypto stuff and it was well received.
I'm with you with the bland personalities / content mills essentially. Considering the place is mainly guys I felt that my dating advice and telling guys not to be simps and teach them how to talk to hot chicks and not be wifeing up single mom land whales would be well received but you can't really make much truthful content around here. It is all PC..... it is like everyone is afraid that others will see they voted for something like that and it will hurt there reputation or something. It is very strange.
Yeah had everyone's attention. It was really what STEEM needed. someone who a great writer but was mixing it up big time and wasn't just a politically correct "safe bet" content mill.
Even mixed it up by doing those videos explaining how he scared his back up by folding himself up like a lawnchair and giving himself head. Everyone on the platform was watching and was engaged. The clear and obvious thing is that people here don't really get rewarded for real engagement like you do on YouTube.
I know there can be a happy mix of real engagement and the stake weight model. Unfortunately Steemit Inc doesn't know what to do to create that environment.
You are right. We are legit losers. Most people didn't take the bait. If you think of the content creators who made the most money here. They never bought into the system really. The maybe powered up some money that they earned here but they never brought in money from their bank accounts....etc.
And most of the people who didn't get support just peaced out.
It is strange what you mention about the rap battles community. I have noticed that too where people spend insane amount of time on Reddit doing memes and stuff for free.
That is always what was so strange about STEEM to me. Things were always off so real content creation really never had a place. Because real engagement wasn't something that mattered here for all practical purposes.
But then that also brings up the argument of if the inflation rate and other economic factors amplified the issues and the decline as well. It certainly didn't help considering the inflation over the last year was actually around 17% because of the Steem Dollar situation. I didn't foresee that situation. 8.59% was already bad enough inflation in comparison to sub 4% for Bitcoin and Litecoin at this point. 4.3% for DOGE at this point and 1% for EOS. 0% for Nano.
Did you know I hung out with in Thailand?
Oh yeah..... dude watch from this (6:15) point forward on the Crypto Daily video with that meme of the guy in the prison. That cracked me up.
