Hey there,
This is my first proper blog post in a while here on #Steem. After a rocky first week of #hf22, I can say one thing: It's better now!
For a long time, I complained that the trending page was terrible for the reputation of this blockchain and its frontends. I mean really, it was the worst. Most of the content appearing in trending was pure shit posted with the sole purpose of deploying swarms of voting bots, and drain the reward pool in the process.
Time for a change
I am happy to see community engagement, new ideas, and innovations are now at the core of what was always supposed to be a social platform. Thanks to the downvoting pool, the crap get weeded out by the community while original content now has a place to thrive.
That's not to say that everything is perfect, though. It can still be hard for new authors and content creators to get noticed in the ocean of content that is the #steem blockchain. There are still a few bad players in the game, and that's never going to disappear.
The community is what will shape the future of this blockchain and the projects based on it.
In conclusion...
... Be the change you want to see on #steem! You've been given the tools to do it, don't waste this opportunity.
Use your votes! Especially your downvotes. It is excessively important that the community work as a team and weed out the crap to keep this blockchain heading into the right direction!
