I wrote this a week ago:
We have years of evidence of what Justin Sun intends to do and does. He lies to, he cheats, he obfuscates and he exploits others to make himself richer. He is a master of the crypto shell game and a bad actor.
Life is too short to waste a second working with or investing into people you can identify as bad actors or untrustworthy. This should be a lesson we have all learned repeatedly over the years. It never ends well.
Well...I always said I would be here until the end, that I am in it for the long haul. The haul was long and now it's over. This is the end of Steem as we have known it.
I will not help a bad actor build a community, I will not help a bad actor make money, I will not help or be party to a bad actor exploiting a community that I care about, I will not abide while a bad actor treats an attempt at decentralization like he's a banana republic dictator and we are his portable assets.
I will not help bad actor exchanges who violate their users' rights without consent. I am powering down, pulling in all my leases and moving my Steem to Bittrex. I will never use Binance or Huobi again and I recommend everyone reading this stay far away from those bad actors too.
You can buy coins, you can prop up phony witnesses with made up names (naming one after "corona" was particularly disgusting) like this is some insane North Korean dictatorship, you can buy a URL and a front end, but you can't buy the only thing that gives a blockchain network its value: people, community, and users. And once you rape a community's trust, don't ever expect to ever have it again.
If Steem is reborn and Sun's coins are forked out, I'll be here for it. But right now, I am turning off the lights.
