So this morning while at the Hub, I had some visitors and they wanted to know how much they can get from Steemit. They even pointed out that they want to be more successful than I am. I was attentive for the first 10 minutes or more as they spoke and what was I doing..., I was listening and there were times when I should have said something but didn't.
I wanted to really understand why they are here at the Hub and why they thought I was successful.
You see, lots of times, we are motivated by the things we see other people achieve and that motivation is not genuine as it soon fizzles out because, it is what we see others have and what we then want which mostly never comes to us.
I understand people see me at the Hub and they think ejemai is successful on steemit but they fail to understand that success are not measured by what the hungry eyes sees but by what the satisfied mind is able to perceive irrespective of the picture before them.
So, we talked for some time and I told them what I thought they should be worried about, and that is, Putting in genuine work from a heart filled with love. They queried about the earnings and what they should expect when they join Steemit and I told them the truth... NOTHING. Yes, Nothing I told, Nothing. If they think it is easy to earn a buck on Steemit, then it is not for them.
The Steemian who brought them felt I shouldn't have been that way to them and I insisted I had done the best I could. You see, it is not about registering them, it is about getting them register themselves so that way they will "mine their earnings with their minds."
There are quite a number of individuals out there who think more of the payout than of the future gratification in Steemit. The payout is the journey and that is why most people stop when it fails to come, Steemit is the destination and once you understand that, you will see what I see and why I am not worried about the payouts as they appear at this time.
Steemit is becoming a full time work for me and I am really happy I am at a place where I can really boast and say, "I figured a goldmine and I am taking my people with me." I have worked in various sectors of the economy and I can proudly say I have seen it all and earned when it was sweet and when it wasn't. From the Financial, Business, Manufacturing, Oil and Gas and Marine sectors, I have done some wonderful stints.
Understanding what the destination is, in every travel is what makes the journey interesting. It is like life as we know it, the destination is the great beyond and we are well aware no one leaves the earth with their possessions, so many of us are careful not to be foolish to think amassing wealth for ourselves is the ultimate.
When I started out actively on Steemit, I was at a low in my life. I had just returned from an offshore gig where I spent over 4 months working only to return to so many issues waiting.
After the first month, the money soon finished and I had to start knocking on doors and sending my resume out for the next offshore gig that hasn't yet come. I soon dropped the desire to doing that slave work and focused on Steemit which quickly broke my spirit as I initially thought it was going to be a sweet picking.
Steemit is a hard mother f.. shut your mouth, I am talking about the Steem though.
Hehehe, Steemit is hard.
I have always told everyone I know that Steemit is not easy and I still tell every newbie I recruit. I try to discourage them from joining the platform because I do not want to have 100 recruits who will end up abandoning their accounts thereby costing Steemit Inc so much money. I am okay associating with Five (5) vibrant Steemians over 100 inactive with fancy usernames.
What to you is the destination is not the same for the other. I think the destination is Steemit.
I woke up feeling the Lord of the Steems telling me of a more vibrant and rewarding community coming soon. I do not yet know how sweet it will be, but I am sure it will be what everyone of us will love.
So pick up your Steem and look beyond the payout as it is not the destination but a pointer to the ultimate destination. Use love and then, Steem like
