I’m back
It’s been quite some time since I actively participated in overall Steem matters. Ever since Steemfest 3 ended I got stuck with university tasks and exams which led to me having close to no energy whatsoever.
This happens every semester. I basically have like 4 months for Steem and 2 for university every half a year. The semester is now officially finished and I intend to dive back to full-time Steeming once again.
I have been around
I didn’t have energy to create, but that doesn’t mean I didn’t have energy to consume and to think behind the curtain (a bit...:D). I have been keeping track of all the recent important events and I have given them some thought. Purpose of this article is to create basically a table of content of what has caught my eye and what I chose to write about in the future. There is a possibility that I have missed something very important for the whole Steem community. If there is such an announcement/event/discussion and you dont’t see it in my “to-analyse list” please SHARE IT with me. I’ll gladly add topic or two to my thought processes.
Topics
The topics will cover every imaginable Steem-related aspect. I’m going to speak about Steem economy, possible protocol changes and its (positive/negative) impacts, Proof-of-brain, improvement of decentralized community’s execution ability, censorship resistance, Ned and the powerdown drama, decentralized development, SteemDAC and ???.
Steem economy
Here I’ll mainly talk about the token value, what had the biggest impact on it and how to retain value in the Blockchain, potentially how to gain more. I haven’t given this topic much thought previously, but
Protocol changes
There definitely is a lot to discuss. What I recently had in mind was the idea of 50% curation reward, what would happen if we went back from linear reward curve and most importantly the idea reassessing the distribution of minted Steem. Most pressing is then the need to form a decentralized governance model that would enable us to allocate funds for the development, but that probably deserves its own article (maybe more). I have also come by this article about Proof-of-brain. It is still yet to be comprehended by me. Anyway it feels like a great futuristic vision which’s contribution to the Steem discussion shouldn’t be disregarded.
There were many articles that already contributed to the discussion. Those that I have come by (and highly recommend) were and her ideas about the improvement of our community execution,
(here) and
framework for the decentralized development and
SteemDAC.
Censorship and powerdown drama
Lastly I want to add to the discussion about the latest drama that has taken place on our Blockchain. There is no community without its drama and Steem is no exception it seems. I shall treat the topic for what it is - just a drama.
And that’s it! Is there anything that I missed? Please let me know? I’ll gladly add it to the table of content. Writing time ahead!:)
