Yesterday I posted an article about the prices of Steem and Bitcoin. Among the few comments I got, there were two that really caught my attention.
One was from a member who said he had no idea why Steem was at such a low price and that he would take advantage of this and put some money into Steem.
The other comment was from a member who said he did not understand anyone investing in Steem as all that was behind Steem was a network of 100,000 people who posted shitty articles and that in no way could this make Steem increase in price, in fact he said Steem was like the MySpace of crypto social networks.
Now it is true that BTC is the big guy among cryptos, it is the oldest, the best known, the highest priced also the one that has made the most people rich. Some analysts are seeing the price of BTC jump to 10,000, 25,000 or even 1,000,000 USD per BTC. So this guy said the smart thing to do is invest in Bitcoin.
And I think he is partly right, of course BTC is the coin that gets the most money invested, but there is no proof that its price will go up as expected, it most probably will but it could also tank.
Also making money with BTC is harder than with other alt coins because the price of BTC is so high, while you can expect a coin like Steem to double or triple its price in a few days, with BTC it would take much longer to double your money.
Steem at $1.00 is still at a low price and you can still reap great profits if the price sky rockets. I mean if Steem does go up to 10 dollars you could increase your money 10 times. Now, this could happen, but also Steem could have a bad spell and become what is known as a shit coin, but if you seriously want to make money you have to take risks.
So I really don’t see investing in Steem as a bad move, the Steemit platform works, it has a good management team, and I think this is where Steem could go up, if this team makes wise decisions we could see Steem really take off and I think SMT is a good idea it could be the beginning of many good thing for Steem.
I am not recommending where or what to invest this is just my point of view, your money is yours so you should really look into what you are investing, and remember not to put in more than you can afford.
