Hive account@yehey has been busy yesterday creating her own Steemit site that people can use when steemit.com is having issues. I was hoping this morning when I saw that the UI on steemit.com had been updated, that she had not yet made the changes. Not that I don't like the new changes, but I like to compare what the old site looked like with the new site to better understand what changes were made.

One of the major changes that took place was the post information was moved to the top left corner. Look at the pictures below if you're not sure what I mean. The username, tag, and post time was moved to the top left corner of the post information.

The order was rearranged from time -> user -> tag to user -> tag -> time. The 100% power up icon was also moved to this information from where it was before after the post title.

The lines between the upvote comment and resteem were removed (making it look a lot cleaner in my opinion).

The tags are now on the left side of the site as well as a link to my blog and my wallet added to the right column. It would be awesome if we had access to modify the right column with pages we frequently visit, such as the marketplace or favorite tags such as #thealliance, #teamaustralia, or #steemsilvergold that might not be easily accessible on the left.

Finally, you have a second option on how you view your feed. You can either view it as more of a list as you can see in the view above, or a larger view with full-size images as you can see in the post below. This also narrows your feed so maybe the purpose of this was a more mobile-friendly view?

I love when you're viewing a post how the background is darker. It really makes what I'm reading pop and I think creates less strain on my eyes. Maybe it's all psychological, but I think it's a good improvement.

Small change, but when you click on your icon they've moved the location in which the pop-up display slightly. Once again I think this is a great improvement as far as making the site feel cleaner.

With all new changes slight modifications will need to be made. Since they made modifications to the layout of the site overall (adding a grey box at the top of the site which is what the red arrow is pointing to) some pages such as the search page will need to be updated. As you can see with the new site, the search bar is now half covered with these updates.
