I have come across a number of Steemit users raising concerns over the falling Steem price, and have decided to address these concerns
First, let me tell you about my biggest mistake on Steemit so far then I can watch you pack your bags and leave.
By the way this is a very selfish post. The most selfish post I've Ever written on steemit for the time have been here.
Do I care? Maybe not.
Now According to the #coinmarketcap.com the price of steem is currently trading at 1.80 USD with a market cap of $475,4176.... This is disappointing because most people here expect a bullish steem by now, so to make the story shot let me drop this here and see how it looks like right now compared to the last 3 months.
What does this really mean for steemit?
The price of Steem can't seem to stop dropping. It seems as though gravity has got "Drop it like it's hot" on repeat. It looks to have a firm grip on this one.
Like all the people we attracted to Steemit just a few days back are now beginning to disperse, faster than they came. The show is no longer interesting and there's no more incentives for the bystanders to linger on any longer.
The chaff is being separated from the wheat.
Why Prices go low sometime?
One thing we will all certainly agree on is that, by whatever measure you use, prices have fallen. I believe there are a number of contributing factors to this market move…I'll give my views on this, you can help me give yours too
1- Too Much Good Content is Buried with Low quality posts .
*I have noticed this problem since my first days here. I have even written about it.
Steem is supposed to be mined by producing good content. Unfortunately, the current system ignores most of the good content.
When good content gets ignored, the author gets disappointed, and most probably leave steemit, some event want to commit suicide ( i read a post about a guy who wants to commit suicide because of low quality posts burring his posts)
Steemit in purest form is supposed to eliminate those that cannot create competitive content and let the cream rise to the top
2 Buying Steem is Difficult
A special problem is that buying Steem and SBD is not easy. Steem is supposed to be a social network for everyone, and everyone can not buy Steem through cryptocurrency exchanges. We need a very easy way to buy steem directly from the SteemIt.com
How do you expect the price of Steem to go up when buying it is so difficult and intimidating for most people*
One of a Newbie i signed up one a week ago met me and asked me a question which i will answer later in this post,
Why my few cents i earned on my introduction post keeps dropping? Then i was like you know what? the price of steem is kinda low.
This was his reply:
Jordan you see It doesn't make any sense to spend endless hours on a post only to watch it make a silly $1 after 7 whole days. What's the point of investing all that energy? I'd be better off doing something else,
Haha You can pack your bags and go.
Wait... before you go, let me you tell something very important,
One of the first things to do when you move to a new environment is to try to understand what goes on and how things work.
These rules of steem prices dropping down might not be flashed in your face but they exist and the saying "ignorance is not an excuse" will forever be golden.
It's even in law! So feigning ignorance can never vindicate whoever. So far these laws exist, everyone is bound to go in search of them and find them out. If they didn't exist at all, that would have been a different case.
I'm done, you can pack your bags and go
My advice to new users
Now if you're a newbie you need to learn how to play the rules, you get?
Because we need Steemit to grow and there is no way we can properly grow without new Steemians knowing how to follow "rules" generally accepted by the community as a whole thing.
When will the price of Steem grow?
No one truly supporting Steem and Steemit long term should be worrying about prices right now. The opportunity we have here is unprecedented, everyone can get money without having to put any in. Any value of Steem will be more than any other place where you can post your content and let's be realistic about it a bit:
I have some good news for you
Why Is A Low Priced Steem Not a Ugly Thing ?
I found this out the hard way but let me tell you , Now when the price of Steem is low, you tend to earn more Steem from your payouts. you get? no you don't
There's a very simple math that can be done to prove my words .
So let me say when Steem is maybe at $2, and your liquid payout from your post is $10, you get $10 worth of Steem which is 5 Steem.
Now when Steem is $0.50, that same $10 liquid payout will give you 20 Steem.
But just in case the value of payout drops, you only need $2.50 to match the same number of Steem $10 would have given you.
Now listen don't be fooled by the price tag on the surface!
It's the Steem you accumulate during these low periods that will boost your earnings when the prices go up.
Imagine how much faster your Steem Power will grow when you're getting 20 Steem for $10 as compared to getting just 5 Steem. That's 4x faster, yeah?
Jordan you're right.. so what should i do then?
Well Do not get worried because of the low steem price rather see it as an opportunity to grow your investment in steem power and most importantly, grow the steemit community. In-fact now is the right time to work even harder and market steemit to your friend, family members and social media contact in order for them to join , buy steem cheap (power it up) and start blogging. This will lead to a positive
I am, however, sure that steem low price will not hold in the long run because investors will certainly notice that the steem ecosystem is undervalued. Thus, steem current low price is not an ugly or a bad thing , rather a good opportunity for us to grow our steem power and be more relevant in the future of Steemit
Now I'm assuming that if you made it this far, you're probably really on Steemit to share your amazing stuff and interact with the community.
Don't let the low price of Steem stop you from putting out the quality content you've always been putting out.
The best time to write on Steemit is now!
Do it for the love of the craft and art.
Haha Let the weak hands sell their Steem, a couple of weeks of low prices won't kill this project. I still see 'right now' as a great opportunity to build a stake up in the next social media giant
Only the strong hands will remain
