A week ago I made a contest to celebrate my first 50 followers. Winner of the contest is announced at the end of the post. But first I need to make a couple of observations on Steemians involved in it and on Steemians in general.
Contest rules were simple: you upvote - get a chance for some SBD, resteem chance for some more SBD, nominate somebody chance for some more SBD and chance to gift nominee also some SBD. I'm astounded by the outcome of the contest. 50 upvotes, 14 resteems, and just 10 nominations.
50 upvotes it's great and perfectly fitting for 50 followers.
But 14 resteems and just 10 nominations is something that makes me sad and wondering about my fellow human. I can think of a few reasons why is so but I don't like either of them.
Didn't resteem or nominate because of:
- haven't read the whole post - why did you then upvote it defeats the whole point of this contest and Steem in general
- didn't want to dilute my chances of winning by getting more Steemians into the contest - that is just plain selfish and stupid because at the same time you are doing your best to make the reward pool as small as possible
Didn't nominate because of:
- don't know anybody - at least you know your self, it wasn't against the rule. And if that not then why not pick somebody randomly. I'm quite sure that they would appreciate that small act of kidness from you.
All in all, my belief in fellow human is a bit shaken. But never the less, I won't stop beliving that if everybody starts to work towards common goal, and that would be peace and prosperity for evrybody in this case, anything can be achived.
My dear reader of this post, I call upon you to give your toughts on this matter in the comment section of this post!
