SteemBin is a Pastebin/Gist alternative powered by the STEEM Blockchain
For the last few weeks and myself have been developing alternative ways to interact with STEEM/Steemit. One of our major gripes has been the lack of syntax highlighting available when using Steemit-flavored markdown. No highlighting makes it harder to share code effectively on Steemit, and we wanted to change that without going off-chain.
def hello_world():
print('Hello, world. I have no syntax highlighting!')
To that effect, we are proud to present SteemBin, a Pastebin/Gist alternative powered by the STEEM blockchain. SteemBin makes it easy to share beautifully formatted code and text snippets, while retaining all the benefits of STEEM.
Posts made using the Steembin service are encoded in the STEEM blockchain, and use a small percentage of your bandwidth. In return, you can receive up-votes on the material you submit, and you get all of the censorship-resistant and distributed benefits of STEEM.
One of my first posts ever made on Steemit was sharing a snippet of Python code. Using SteemBin, I can share the same code with better syntax highlighting and programmer friendly tools like Copy and Clone buttons.
