An Outreach Program for Steem #4 : time for @CommunityAction

I have been heartened and inspired by the support and comments received on the three posts so far about starting an Outreach Program for Steem.

There is definitely a need, a desire and an urgency to get an outreach program up and running.

The question is what can do with the immediate resources available and where do we start.

If you haven't yet read the three posts please take a few minutes to glance through these to get up to speed on the ideas so far...

First steps - Steem Ambassadors

This will be the more difficult of the two parts of the Outreach Program as it will require more planning and more funding.

It will largely need to wait for a successful proposal to the Steem Proposal System before it can really get going.

But in the meantime we can start to plan.

As well as recruiting the Ambassadors themselves we will need to identify potential crypto conferences to present to.

For each we will need to research the potential audience size and type, when and where it is being held, and perhaps most importantly the costs involved to get on the presenters list.

I will make a separate post to start researching and collecting ideas for the conferences.

We will also need to look at how we can best select the most suitable Ambassadors for the initial six month trial. More on this shortly.

First Steps - Regional Leaders

This will be somewhat easier to progress as it does not initially at least require significant funding.

Once an SPS proposal is put forward for the Ambassadors program, an additional element can be added for funding to support the Regional Leaders.

In the meantime I am keen to start moving this forward.

A number of people have already expressed interest to be involved. I will be putting a separate post out to follow this up and recruit more people who would like to get involved as Regional Leaders.

From there we can look at how we can get started with more limited funding.

The Hive account@communityaction account

To make everything easier to manage I am going to move the administration of this program on to a separate account Hive account@communityaction.

I will be delegating 15,000 SP to this account to begin supporting people involved in the program and their activities. Hopefully the post rewards will also build up to provide some scale funding.

In the first instance I will be directing this at the Regional Leaders as the resources are unlikely to be sufficient to be make much impact with the Steem Ambassadors program.
