Let me start by saying that I do not think Steemit is looking for Facebook at this time. Maybe later we will see enough development for Steemit to offer similar characteristics. However, at the moment, it seems that Reddit is the objective that makes sense. The Steemit platform is more aligned with Reddit than with Facebook.
That said, many seem to think that traditional companies are capable of counteracting what is happening here in the Steem blockchain. I am here to emphatically declare that it is impossible. Facebook, YouTube and Twitter are totally incapable of doing anything to combat what is being developed here.
Mark Zuckerberg made some headlines yesterday when he delivered his speech on the "Facebook State" by mentioning that he is studying blockchain and how to implement it on Facebook. This, of course, sends chills to many Steemians believing that Zuckerberg is going to change a switch and destroy what is being created here.
