I as I am nearing my 4th month on Steemit I want to give thanks. I am having a great time sharing my experiences with complete strangers, and enjoying yours in return. Lets face facts here, all of you are complete strangers to me. I get a small glimpse into your lives, or at least the bit your willing to share. The only person I follow that I truly know, is my wife, . My wife is an amazing person, and a very talented individual. She keeps me grounded, down to earth, and always reminds me of the important things, like our three beautiful daughters.
I digress, the reason for the post. I have just hit a mile stone 100 FOLLOWING! Yes, thats right, I am following 100 different Steamers. It took me a few months but I accomplished the task. Thank you all so very much for allowing me to follow you and enabling me to enjoy what you share.
I love to check out the Feed every morning before work. I read a few posts, and I always keep an eye out for my favorite authors. After that, I click on the New tab and troll around for talent I have not yet scouted. There are defiantly some diamonds in the rough, so to speak. I know an upvote or a resteem from me won't be a huge accomplishment for the author. I like to think that a small bit from everyone make the greater whole.
The other thing I have noticed. The more Steem Power one has, the more upvotes their posts garner, and the followers come much quicker. I truly wish I had a huge lump sum I could invest into this community. I would do so in a heartbeat! I am just glad for some of the other people that encouraged me into Steem. A thanks to and
. You both gave me the courage to dive in and get doing something
I feel that my ability to create content is decent and my writing skills are equally matched. I am a journeyman plumber in the state of Utah. I love what I do because I'm good at it, and Im good at it because I love it. It seems to me that that symbiotic relationship with your chosen profession make it seem much less like a job. Also, I work with some really great guys. We try and keep the mood light and joke and pick on each other. The "sometimes" crude humor, that floats around the job sites gets me laughing pretty hard. When someone goes a step to far or innocent ears are around, the code word "Church" is spoken. If you hear the code word, you immediately stop talking or switch the subject to a topic suitable for Church. To give an example of some of the milder humor. My coworker today rested his hand upon mine and started to caress it with his thumb. As I looked at him he looked back with endearing stare and we both started to crack up laughing. Im just glad we were both wearing work gloves or things could have gotten weird.
Here is a snapshot of the job we were working on today.
What you will see depicted above, in the foreground is the sub-rough plumbing (under concrete portion) for the Men's and Women's bathrooms for the Pool House. The pool house is center of a large apartment complex. Thus far, we have completed plumbing in one of the buildings, up to the point of sheetrock. There are 16 more building to go. I expect this project will take about a year and a half to complete. Behind the plumbing, the rough dirt work and heavy equipment, and lumber package for the club house. Im glad I don't have to do any of the construction portion of the buildings. It takes about 3 weeks to to rough frame with stick lumber, it only take me and my crew about one week to plumb it. There are 9-10 framers on the job and only 4 plumbers. Plumbers are the ones that make sure the sewage exits the building in a safe an sanitary manner, and the drinking water is fresh and not cross connected with unsanitary situations.
This appears now to be a completely random post. I starting with my Following, to my Thanks, and finally my job. I hope you enjoy reading this and reward me with an upvote. Please leave me a comment, I thank you in advance and I will thank you later.
upvote, follow, comment, resteem...only if you want to though, it's not required.
