You can't just expect to just use vanilla https://steemit.com for the rest of your time as a steemian. Lets spice it up a little.
Desktop
I use a couple of tools on a desktop which vastly improve my user experience.
is something that everyone needs, it notifies you for just about everything you could possibly want. I have mine set up to conveniently notify me through discord
for when my posts are commented on
when my posts are re-steemed
and when I receive transactions
Is an awesome web browser extension for chrome, opera and firefox. It improves the basic functionalities of the Steemit and Busy interfaces.
Look at the difference on just the wallet page right here:
You also get a lovely little widget telling you your voting power, and allowing you to vote on a post with a percentage rather than a 100% (which steemit.com makes you do by default till you reach 500SP). The widget also allows you to quickly switch between four of the biggest interfaces (Steemit, Busy, SteemD, and Utopian).
As well as the stuff mentioned above, you get rewarded with SPP (Steem Plus Points) for simply using many features of the steem platform that you're likely already using such as ,
and
. The more SPP you have, the higher your vote from
will be.

Steem World
Steem World contains a wealth of account information, if there's ever anything you need to find out about an account, this is the place to go.
Steem world is also useful for SBD conversion, allowing you to make money off the negative difference between the SBD trading price and $1. I've been using it a lot recently, in a matter of days I've made a few SBD. Using steem world is a lot easier than the alternative which is doing it through command line after steemit removed the feature during the bull run where people were converting SBD to steem when it was worth more than a dollar, resulting in a loss.
