A little over two years ago, I started the migration from my account to a newly made
account. Powering down and moving my funds took a month or two and I started focusing on this new account. I made it up to about 600 followers on
before I stopped using it for posting.
Gaining over 500 was really impressive to me. Never have I had so many followers on any platform except for Mithril. So making it to my next milestone with 1000 is huge to me. Also making it to 70 rep is as equally amazing to me, when I was a 25 it was so far away. But with consistent posting, at least twice a day for the last year and a half has really shown it to be worth while.
Making friends along the way on my Steem journey has been a great help in reaching all new groups of followers and support. And the delegation on Steem lets me return some of that love in the form of Steem Power support to different groups. Being a curator myself has helped me promote great content on Steem. And with the 50/50 split it was given me even more incentive to find good content to upvote and earn rewards because of it.
At this time I have upvoted over 70,000 posts on Steem blockchain with a CSI of 10.4. I have made more than 1200 posts and commented over 6800 times.
Thanks everyone that has joined me along the way, hoping one day I can add another zero to that one thousand and get to 10k eventually. It may take a few years but I think its well worth the time spent.
Over the last year or so I've earned over 7000 Steem. If I was to sell that at all time highs thats worth well over $50,000, not counting tokens Ive earned along the way. Thats a great start! Working full time to post on Steem I think will be worth it and I plan on keeping at it for many years.
Traveling to Alabama almost paid for itself on Steem, making posts along the way earned me about $30 which is half the cost of fuel there and back. I think eventually I can fully fund my trips and adventures by blogging. Just working on making more content along the way for more great posts to earn more Steem.
When I goto State Parks with my camera I am usually successful in paying for my entire trip. Bringing along my special camera pays for the trip with the Infrared and Ultraviolet photos I bring back to post on the blockchain. Taking hundreds of photos while out turns into many posts over the next few weeks or months that will help me recoup my travel costs.
Posting on Steem has helped me buy another camera, which I am thankful for. I have been working on blending Infrared and Visual photography using both cameras so hope they turn out as awesome as I see it in my head.
By taking so many photos and working with others in the photography community on Steem I have learned how to better process my photos and watching others post encouraged me to try out new techniques. I feel more much comfortable editing video now I have been doing it for posting on D.tube for over a year and the same for using GIMP for photo editing. Ive learned alot just by blogging regularly that will be valuable skills for the rest of my life.
Even in my profession working with Information Technology, building Linux nodes for my photos using LBRY and Spee.ch. And for my videos using 's onelovedtube IPFS server software has taught me alot about Linux and using headless operating systems, tracking utilization with Prometheus and Grafana, Web servers and security of having a public facing computer on the web.
Really happy I made it to one thousand and everything I have learned along the way!
Thank you everyone.
Addresses below to help me buy better camera equipment and support me to travel to locations to do photo and video and overall great blogs in new places. I would be happy to list some of the contributors in my posts for donations that help me along the way.
