It's no big secret that I'm a huge fan of steem and would definitely go as far as to call it my favorite cryptocurrency. It's not just based on my personal opinion after all though, as there are a bunch of facts confirming that steem is simply superior:
Number of Transactions
It might sound crazy but steem basically performs as many transactions per day as all other cryptocurrency combined. Yeah it's true, just take a look on the below graph from blocktivity.com and count it for yourself. Steem is the unbeaten number one, a cryptocurrency that actually gets used massively by thousands of people every single day.
That being said, the steem blockchain is responsible for about 50% of all cryptocurrency transactions. So whatever some people might think about steem and its whole ecosystem, they won't be able to deny it's huge usage compared to other tokens.
Fair Distribution of Rewards
Besides the Number of transactions I like the fact that the reward pool gets split among all users of the platform in a fair way. Not just authors but as well commenters, curators, witnesses & hodlers receive their fair share of the pie.
(Yes, you've seen that correctly, simply hodling your Steem actually gets you 16.4% in yearly interest. That means that you get 16.4 Steem for every 100 tokens you're holding. That's quite an awesome number compared to anything else out there in the real world and the cryptosphere.)
Huge Future Potential - SMT's
Last but not least I want to name the huge future potential that lies ahead of steem, especially after SMT's will be introduced at the end of this year. With Appics probably being the first SMT token to launch I'm sure that hundreds of others will follow shortly after, which will lead to huge exposure of steem among the world wide web.
Further we just reached 1 Million users on the steem blockchain recently, which will most likely just skyrocket in 2018 to numbers we would have never dreamed of before.
