About 1000 new Users get onboarded daily, new projects based on the steem blockchain pop up all the time and some are still doubting its future success? Steem doesn't just have the most transactions, it most likely as well got the highest number of active users and projects.
We are going through a bear cycle okay, but that's really nothing to worry about. The Steem Ecosystem has build a proper base during the last months, which will just continue to grow whenever SMT's go live in the 2nd half of 2018.
Steem is the only social network cryptocurrency with such a big Community and such a high market cap. A more solid ground regarding regulations will bring further movement into the cryptosphere and eventually allow more merchant tools and fiat gateways to open up for steem.
