Follow Friday

Hey, hey, it's Friday! I'll kick off with some music you can listen to whilst you read this post. This track is by some people I met via the old Six String Bliss forum and podcast. Hive account@stav was also part of that community, but he is not part of Black Snake Halo. No, they are not on Steem.

Rather than just listing people this #FollowFriday I will include tags within the general post.

It has been another rocky week for Steem as the markets dipped again, but then everything was down and Steem was lower at the end of last year. At this time last year it was worth several dollars! Since then a lot more coins have come up and overtaken it despite us having an active community with lots of real people using Steem.

Hive account@nathen007 muses about the Steem economy with lots of tokens floating around. I was discussing this with Hive account@enforcer48 on his post and it was then I realised that we did not have to be using the Palnet, SportsTalkSocial, SteemLeo etc to be using and earning their tokens as long as you have staked some. I had sold some LEO as I did not expect to be using it, but have staked it now. May as well be earning any tokens we can.

Meanwhile, Hive account@blockchaincat is back after some months away with a comic about Libra (Facebook's 'cryptocurrency'). I would think our community would be eager to support comics about our favourite topic.

You may have seen I have been logging my exercise activities with @Exhaust. This is a neat 'dapp' that lets you record running, cycling and other sports. You can upload GPS files from your regular app. The developer Hive account@mstafford is very responsive to suggestions and bug reports. He just re-vamped the site and there are a few issues with it. I would hope those will get fixed soon. As not many people are using it you have a good chance or getting into the weekly top 5 for your favourite activity.

I won a few Steem in the last Open Mic contest. I have entered over 100 times now and only won a few times as there are so many quality musicians on Steem. Hive account@luzcypher is behind this and deserves more support. You can vote for his witness. He is ranked 98th and ought to be higher. There are inactive witnesses with more votes, so check yours.

Talking of witnesses the Hive account@nathen007 post points out that Hive account@partiko have not posted in a while. I use their mobile app, but it is concerning if the team are not active. I vote for their witness, but would have to consider changing that if they are not doing anything.

As always I encourage you to post your own #FollowFriday suggestions in the comments or your own post. Nobody else seems to be doing this lately and I think it could be useful to make new connections.
