So I've been reading the Steem whitepaper and it explains how Steem weighs payouts proportional to the square of the amount of Steem Power with this formula:
Maybe I'm missing something obvious but this formula is pretty unclear.
Say in a hypothetical scenario we have two posts in existence and 3 voters with 10, 20, and 30 Steem Power respectively. 10 power guy and 20 power guy vote just once on post 1. 30 power guy votes just once on post 2.
Would the calculation for the slice of the payout on the first post be
(10^2 + 20^2) / (10^2 + 20^2 + 30^2) = 500 / 1400 = 35.7%
or would it be
(10+20)^2 / ( (10 + 20)^2 + 30^2) = 900 / 1800 = 50.0%
