I have noticed the value of my 100% vote go down over time...
I mainly powered up to able to promote my photography: with all the traditional social media having retarded algorithms or expensive advertising, I thought I would try Steemit. I love all the interesting people, good art and valuable advice I found here. However, I am disappointed with how there seems to be an SP inflation...
but my dude STEEM price went up!
Yes, my STEEM is worth more than when I bought it. But my SP seems to be worth less! Let me explain that so it does not sound stupid: although the price of STEEM rises, so does the total supply. If you use STEEM as a currency or as a store of value it does not bother you; heck, it might even increase the liquidity: more place that accept your STEEM! But from a SP perspective it is different: more SP means that my relative voting power and therefore absolute worth of my vote decreases!
since I powered up my vote worth decreased more than 20%!
My increase in STEEM through curating, delegating to bots and publishing was about 5%. So lose about 15% of my relative influence and absolute income of my SP per year!
So that makes it a pretty gloomy future for my account: if I do not get popular soon, I will lose the "edge" of my early adoptership to inflation!
but the value my dude?!
Yes, in fiat I still made a profit, but that was not my goal. I wanted STEEM to generate a cashflow on Steemit. Instead of an increase of income over time, I am looking at a decrease in STEEM income and depending on the price, a stable, decreasing or increasing income in fiat money.
is anybody else as confused as me about this? Did I make a logically error in my post? Am I just dumb?
please tell me in the replies!
