New Games and Old games made available on a decentralized cloud server. That's what I would like to see. I would like to tune in to a decentralized gaming community. If there's a cryptocurrency - that's just brilliant.
Is this something that could be plugged in to Steem?
I haven't heard much about decentralized video games. I suppose the reasoning in the short term would be: "why would any existing video game franchise change up their video game distribution model when they have a working centralized model?"
When you align the interests of all parties involved in a project - whether it's developers, share holders, end users....The new idea is to value them all equally. To recognize that the well being of each type of player is integral to the success of the business/organization/company.
This is the basis of the sharing economy.
The shift here is: "customers" become part of the "benefactors"....not only for purchasing...but for value added benefit of holding and investing into the company/currency/platform.
I was looking at getting a new gaming system. A playstation or xbox...a new one. I learned that you got to pay to play online. As much as I was surprised it wasn't that surprising that the company's would want to monetize the online game play. This leads me to wonder: "would decentralized gaming networks be bigger and better for everyone"?
This is an area I will need to explore more.
It seems like in the long run it would be most awesome to just have this sort of global data base of video games that you can access from anywhere anytime. And all the types of games...like sports....shooter...or whatever...have all the goods available.
And with all the gaming action - what about "betting"? This seems like such a no brainer. Integrating competition/betting into a video gaming network. Or hooking in different mining options. It would be pretty cool if a gamer's time could be leveraged for a profit. Imagine an era where video gaming was a highly regarded skill. I feel like we are half way there on that. For the record I've been out of the video game scene for some time...but I am thinking I really owe it to myself to make some room for some gaming....and if we can connect that to steem/crypto/betting/competition - all the better :)
This post was to create clarity in writing out my thoughts on the matters here - and to also connect with more information anyone has to share in addition and compliment to what I've outlined here.
- There just seems to be so many great potential plays with blockchain tech and cryptocurrency. It's like finally we're having a world shift towards "Common Sense"...."Best Plays".
