More Q-Pop music from Kazakhstan. 22 SBI contest at the end of the post. Here are five recent releases, and one from earlier in the year. Great voices and crafted sound production unite these tracks. A northwards flick of the volume reveals gorgeous layered mix. The trends are big big spacey bass that leaves plenty of room for diction-laden voices and stabby horns. Listen out; you'll hear the son-of-the-80s-orchestral-hit in most of the tracks listed below. First off with Kamshat and Aidana, whom you might recall from my article on KeshYOU.
Hot /// Aidana Medenova - Sweet Voice

A spooky sounding love song dropped in time for Halloween. That roomy sound like a haunted club an hour after closing, drum like a dancing dangersaur and rrrrrolled R's like a machine gun through the heart. In such moments of house-keeping, mental and literal, mere men cannot escape the sweet voice. Hashtag relatable - I've been that guy hearing her voice everywhere.
Hot /// Kamshat Zholdabaeva & Mirbek Atabekov - Listen to Me
CREDIT: Кәмшат Жолдыбаева & Мирбек Атабеков (Kamshat Zholdabaeva & Mirbek Atabekov) - Тыңда мені / Tynda Meni / "Listen to Me"
This track of forbidden love borne out of the horrors of gangland life brings steam to steem. Kamshat has perfect tone for the passion, horror, fear and tension underlying this track; this ain't a teenage crush story. The sound design is intricate - there's a lot going on if you listen for it. Kamshat has been busy lately, releasing a video for the flow-state track Қалшы қасымда / Kalsha Qasamda and the fun Сайра / Saira with Индира Елемес (Indira Elemes). Just don't look to Saira for survival tips.
Hot /// Madmen - Lalalem

The boy-bands have been doing these weirdly structured songs. It doesn't always pay off, but when they get it right, it's pure ear candy. Slick production for sure, but these boys can sing too.
Hot /// Crystalz - Sen Sulu

I didn't really like this one when it was first released. However, the thoughtful sound production and different structure made it grow on me. Maybe it's the stabby horns.
Hot /// Ziruza - S.O.S.

The video finally dropped for this song, and it has English subtitles! The Q-Pop queen has also released a dance video and an accoustic version which is also worth a listen.
EchoTrack /// Jah Khalib - Medina
CREDIT: Jah Khalib - Медина / Medina, 2018
The echo track for this post is hip-hop with a folk edge from earlier this year. The lyrics (via Lyricstranslate) seem straight out of a heavy metal song.
