Q-Pop selection for April/May 2019

Time for more Q-Pop music from Kazakhstan. 22 SBI contest at the end of the post. Spring has sprung and there's fresh music for the new season.

Intimate breathy vocals, private dancing where Kamshat and you are the only two people in the world, plucky eastern strings and a chiptune bassline. Aiiii mama! You'll need a cold shower after this one.

The "Grapes" are back with this defiant Q-Pop banger with a message to overly controlling boyfriends. The song moves through phrases that allow the personality of the singers to come through. Dancy bass lines with cybernetic autotune. Here's a version with English subtitles, but lowered AV quality. Another notable release by a girl band is Iceblue's debut "The Mask".

As if we needed any more proof that Aidana is a work of art, here she comes with a fun track about haters on the internet. The basslines are as warm as the message which you can read in the English subtitles. I swear this month is not all about former KeshYOU members.

Well, if something is going to get the boys away from their comic books and video games, it's the wooing of a girl who explodes into candy. Staple boy band fare with the usual Madmen polish. Other notable releases by boy bands include Alien's party track "Make a shot" and EQ's brooding track "LAI".
