For Father's Day my family took me to the Village Bistro in Irene. It is a wonderful place to have a family lunch as the serve the best pizza I have ever tasted.
They also serve a selection of craft beer and today I tasted the delicious Alliance beer. Brewed with honor it says on the attractive white and yellow label. It is an amber ale and also indicated as a citizen beer.
It came at a cost of 35 south african rand almost the equivalent of 3 USD
The amber ale is served in a 440ml bottle and has 5,5% alcohol per volume
The Alliance is brewed and bottled in Vlaeberg, a small town not far from Cape Town South Africa.
When poured into a glass it has a rich colorand forms a good foamy head. Icould smell the hops immediately. After the i itial sip I could not wait to drink the rest of the beer. It had a great taste and one could taste the hops clearly in this amber ale. Needless to say I ordered another!
I took the photos myself with my iPhone.
