The Society’s membership also includes, however, many psychologists in a variety of other areas of specialization, as well as social scientists from other disciplines, all of whom share the conviction that psychological analyses can contribute to the understanding and solution of pressing social problems.
Introduction: Problems of Theory and Method
We are going to focus on empirical research when we study social psychology together. A social psychologist is interested in human problems.
Social psychology analyzes social behavior. Observation within interference will allow you to see the behavior of an individuals, social organizational institutions are a major focus of social psychology. These groups affect behavior and experience so it only makes sense to find their link in man’s behavior and experiences.
Social psychology could be thought of as a combination of sociology and psychology along with other behavior sciences although they are not the same.
The answer you are seeking is determined by the question/s. You have to answer the question based on the field of behavior science it suggests. The other fields are just variables.
What is the behavior and experience of an individual? This is a subject.
Why has it caused your subject to behave in such a way? How does it affect the environment? How does the environment affect your subject? Social psychology at work is the observation of these behavior and experience in its respective environment.
Since there is only one set of psychological functions, they would argue, and inasmuch as man’s social behavior and experience depend on his capacities to adapt to his physical environment, the need for a science of social psychology may be more apparent than real.
