Islam is a perfect religion, which not only teaches human relationship with Allah SWT but also teaches how Muslims build community relationships. Islam is also a religion that always spreads goodness and peace, where Islam tells Muslims to have tolerance or tasamuh in addressing the differences between fellow human beings. The Indonesian nation is a diverse nation with various religions and cultures. For that, as Muslims in Indonesia who face multicultural society, it is necessary we learn how should live tolerant and establish community relations in Indonesia, both fellow Muslims and with other religious communities.
In the teachings of Islam, we recognize the term ukhuwah, which means brotherhood or friendship between two or more people who are knit by mutual love, mutual love and mutual compassion. Practice in society can be reflected in the attitude of mutual help and help-helping in order to realize the truth and goodness and common welfare. Ukhuwah itself is divided into three parts, namely: Ukhuwah Islamiah, Ukhuwah Wathaniah, and Ukhuwah Insaniah.
Iswami Islamiah is a fraternity that is woven between fellow Muslims with mutual respect and love each other. This is clearly seen in the hadith of the Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) narrated by Nu'man bin Bashir ra:
You see the believer in mutual love, love-loving and compassion between them like (one) body. If one part of it suffers pain, then the whole member feels pain, so can not sleep and feel fever. (Hadith Sahih narrated by al-Bukhari: 5552)
