Good day my brothers and sisters, i bring you the good news of walking with God through faith and patience. In one of my previous article, i explain vividly, what it means to have faith in God, but this time, I'm going to be adding a companion to faith, which is patience.
First of all, walking with God is not all that easy, this is what every Christian must understand. Walking with God, you are going to experience severe obstacles, trials and temptation, and this is allowed most times by God just to see your faith and patience in him. God see and understands all things, even before they happen, so he is aware of all your hard times, but most times, he allows them stay, just to brew you up for more task ahead.
As a Christian, you must possess that act of having faith and patience in God, not just faith and patience, but very strong faith and patience in God, because, thats the only way you will be able to walk with God.
The bible gave us so many people that have walked with God through faith and patience, and at the end, God gave them their deserve victory.
We see someone like job. Job was a man who respect, obey God and not forgetting he has great faith and patience in God. The life of job, Should be a solid lesson for every Christian all over the world. Let's see
Job 1: 9-22 (KJV):
Then Satan answered the Lord, and said, Doth Job fear God for nought?Hast not thou made an hedge about him, and about his house, and about all that he hath on every side? thou hast blessed the work of his hands, and his substance is increased in the land
But put forth thine hand now, and touch all that he hath, and he will curse thee to thy face. And the Lord said unto Satan, Behold, all that he hath is in thy power; only upon himself put not forth thine hand. So Satan went forth from the presence of the Lord
And there was a day when his sons and his daughters were eating and drinking wine in their eldest brother's house: And there came a messenger unto Job, and said, The oxen were plowing, and the asses feeding beside them
And the Sabeans fell upon them, and took them away; yea, they have slain the servants with the edge of the sword; and I only am escaped alone to tell thee. While he was yet speaking, there came also another, and said, The fire of God is fallen from heaven, and hath burned up the sheep, and the servants, and consumed them; and I only am escaped alone to tell thee
While he was yet speaking, there came also another, and said, The Chaldeans made out three bands, and fell upon the camels, and have carried them away, yea, and slain the servants with the edge of the sword; and I only am escaped alone to tell thee
While he was yet speaking, there came also another, and said, Thy sons and thy daughters were eating and drinking wine in their eldest brother's house: And, behold, there came a great wind from the wilderness, and smote the four corners of the house, and it fell upon the young men, and they are dead; and I only am escaped alone to tell thee
Then Job arose, and rent his mantle, and shaved his head, and fell down upon the ground, and worshipped, And said, Naked came I out of my mother's womb, and naked shall I return thither: the Lord gave, and the Lord hath taken away; blessed be the name of the Lord.In all this Job sinned not, nor charged God foolishly
When the sons of God (angels) came to present themselves to God, satan was also present, (this is to show you that, even with the evil around Satan, he is still able to stand in the present of God, NOT because, he can, but because, God allowed it, that moment the powers and glory of God is in charge and surrounds the presence of God and therefore, satan, standing in the presence of God, is powerless and just there to talk with God). And God boasted to satan, about his servant Job, who is very loyal to him. God actually allowed satan tempt job, but God made it clear to satan not to kill him or touch his soul.
•Job's friends trying to talk to him to give up on God.
•Job going through pain and suffering, because he refused to curse God.
•The devil trying to make Job curse God.
Everything that happened to Job, happened in just a twinkle of an eye and job was devastated, but even in pain and agony, job thanked God, he worshipped God, and gave him praise, because job was a very smart man who understands that, everything he own on earth, was not from him, but from God, and that he came to the world naked and naked he's going to leave.
Also realize that, Job lost all his children and even his wife and friends, tried talking ti him to curse God and be free of the pain. Satan made sure of that, possessing the minds of the friends and wife.
And when God saw the faith and patience Job had for him, even after he lost everything he had, God made sure, job had everything doubled back.
•God gave job, double of everything he has lost.
LESSONS FROM THE LIFE OF JOB
•As humans, and as chriatians my fellow steemit, we must experience such things in life. Most of these things that happen to us, are bound to make us strong. God never told Job about the coming attack towards him by the devil, even at that, Job was unaware, but still BELIEVED in God and decided to stay true to the words of God, fully understanding that everything he owns are not of his power but the almighty father.
•We should understand that everything we possess here are all going to be left behind, even our body... just our soul is going to be made accountable for. Job understand this part and that's why he worshipped God and praise him for the devastation that came to him.
•As Christians, we should also learn to Praise God and worship him, not only when he has blessed us, but also in times of worries and times of hardship, times of tears and times of heavy heart. For when you Praise the lord during these moments, heaven is bound to open for your sake.
•Faith and patience, must be applied and as Christian, when you have faith in God for somthing you're hoping for, be sure to apply patience, because God is not someone who likes to rush when doing his duties, he takes time to make everything perfect. His ways are not our ways, neither is his thought our thought. Just as the heavens is above the earth, so is his knowledge and wisdom and time.
•We should learn to trust God in every moment, even when we dont see the good in it.
Finally, I'd like to say, my brothers and sisters, God never leave us, he's always with us, as long as we stay close to him and never give up on him as his children.
May he grant us our heart desires according to his riches in heaven and according to his appropriate time. Amen.
