When king Herod was told that a child had been born who will reign as king, he was troubled. He became insecure in his person of his person and of his position. This new child born to be king would take away his power, influence and fame, source
He thought to himself. Hence, he decided to eliminate the child. From the cheif priest and scribes of the people, he inquired where the child was to be born. In bethlehem of judea, they told him, as they quoted the prophecy. On hearing this, he asked the wise men to go search for the child abd let him know so that he too will do the same (that is, to pay homage to the child). But he had a different motive in seeking out the child.
."His one disire was to murder the child born to be king"
To become frightened at the rise of another is completely unnecessary. This is because God has made provision for every creature in the entire breath of the universe.
No matter how productive the fish becomes, it can never be too much for the river to contain. Let the stars increase in great numbers, the sky will have a space for all of them. Let the birds multiply in surpassing numbers, the forest will contain all of them.
And even if ants, termites, insects, reptiles etc become so prolific because of favourable conditions, their habitat will not be so saturated as to " vomit" them out. We have trees, plants and flowers in their array and beauty. It is thanks to God's loving providence for his creation.
If God has done this for other creatures how about man and woman, the crown of creation. There is a space, a place and a purpose for every human being. That's why we should appreciate our stand and not envy peoples position.
