But earnestly desire the high gifts. And I will show you a still more excellent way. 1Corinthians 12:31
This is the last word of Paul in the chapter twelve of first Corinthians from which he moved on to chapter thirteen. In the twelveth chapter of the book Paul took his time to teach the church on spiritual gifts and the body of Christ laying out the functions of the various part of the of the body. He exhorted them to desire earnestly for the spiritual gifts which he claimed to be very essential in the Kingdom.
After teaching them all these great spiritual things or truth he turn to say , "And I will show you more excellent way" and this more excellent way is what taught them in the thirteenth chapter. In this chapter the he dedicated his time to teach about love. This connotes that the more excellent way he showed them is love.
In his exposition on love in the chapter thirteen he revealed the nothingness of the believer which is measured by love as well as the spiritual of the believer having love as his basis. The subject of love in the Christendom is of a very great value. Paul described loved as the perfection to come which is equally the same as the manifestation of the son of God.
He also outlined the very qualities of love; love is patient, kind, not rude, not arrogant, etc. Love is the greatest thing in the Kingdom, for three things faith, hope and love but the greatest is love. Beloved let us walk in love for love is of God. God is love and in him there is no darkness. To walk in love is to walk in light.
