Blessings for all, we continue studying the third of bliss, thanks to our Apostle Darlenys and leader SirKnight.
The "discourse of the mountain" is at the beginning of the mission of Jesus; open with the Beatitudes. Here the third of the eight Beatitudes is proposed: "Blessed are the meek because they will inherit the earth."
Who is the soft one? He is the one who does not get angry with evil and does not get carried away by violent emotions. He knows how to master and take advantage of his reactions, especially anger and anger. However, his meekness has nothing to do with weakness or fear. It is not connivance with evil or silence. On the contrary, it requires a great strength, where the feeling of resentment and revenge gives way to the energetic and calm attitude of respect for others.
With the blessing of meekness, Jesus proposes a new type of provocation: turning the other cheek, doing good to those who hurt us, giving the mantle to those who ask for our dress ... He knows how to overcome evil with good . For those who live there, Jesus makes a great promise: "... will inherit the earth."
In the promise of the earth we see another homeland, which Jesus, in the first and last of the Beatitudes, calls "the Kingdom of Heaven": the life of communion with God, the fullness of life that will never end.
Those who live in meekness are happy, even now, because they already experience the possibility of changing the world around them, especially when changing their relationships. In a society where violence, arrogance and oppression often dominate, it becomes a "sign of contradiction" and radiates justice, understanding, tolerance, sweetness, esteem of the other.
Myths, as they work to build a more just and more evangelical society, are preparing to receive the kingdom of heaven as an inheritance and to live "in the new heavens and the new earth."
To know how to live this Word of life it would be enough to look at how Jesus lived, He who said: "Learn from me that I am gentle and humble of heart". In his school, meekness appears as a quality of love. True love, what the Holy Spirit infuses in our hearts, is in fact "joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, meekness, self-control."
Yes, those who love are not agitated, do not hurry, do not offend, do not insult.
Who loves dominates, is sweet, is soft, is patient.
