I wish a successful life to all the steemians and parishioners of the SteemChurch!
In today's reading, we are going to read Paul's First Letter to Timothy, one of his helpers, who was appointed to pastor the Church of Ephesus. The purpose of the letter was to guide Timothy on how he should behave as a leader.
Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by mandate of our Savior God, and of the Lord Jesus Christ our hope, to Timothy, true son in faith: Grace, mercy and peace, from God our Father and from Christ Jesus our Lord. As I begged you to stay in Ephesus, when I went to Macedonia, to send some who do not teach different doctrine,
1 Timothy 1: 1-3
One of Timothy's responsibilities was to prepare other leaders. Choosing people was a real challenge! Therefore, Paul enumerates the criteria that Timothy should adopt in this selection: "(...) If someone wishes to be a bishop, he desires a noble function.
" It is necessary, therefore, that the bishop be blameless, husband of one woman, moderate sensible, respectable, hospitable and apt to teach, not to be attached to wine or violent, but kind, peaceful and not attached to money. He must govern his own family well, having children subject to him, with all dignity.
He can not be newly converted, so that he does not become angry (...) He must also have a good reputation with those outside, so that he does not fall into disrepute (...) "(1 Timothy 3.1- 7) We know that leadership is progressive. If you start with a simple position like, youth leader, area leader and so on.
May these characteristics be notorious in our lives! May God raise more and more people with that profile, so that they may be true leaders among the people of God!
