For a day in your Temple courts is better than a thousand elsewhere; I would rather stand at the entrance of God’s house than live in the tent of wickedness. Psalm 84:10
David was a spiritual man who felt the essence of being with God, to him spending time with God was more important than being in any other place. He said just a day with God is more profitable than many days elsewhere.
One of the serious cause for no manifestation of God in the lives on many people is because they don't spend time with Him.
If we can have a short time with God everyday, I strongly believe it can make a big impact in our life.
It took Haman a whole year for him to plot against the Jews, but it took Esther just three days with God to revoke the whole plot...Esther 4
Peter had work the whole night without a factual results but a brief moment of listening to the words of Jesus brought the miraculous in his business.
So it was, as the multitude pressed about Him to hear the word of God, that He stood by the Lake of Gennesaret, and saw two boats standing by the lake; but the fishermen had gone from them and were washing their nets. Then He got into one of the boats, which was Simon’s, and asked him to put out a little from the land. And He sat down and taught the multitudes from the boat. When He had stopped speaking, He said to Simon, “Launch out into the deep and let down your nets for a catch.” But Simon answered and said to Him, “Master, we have toiled all night and caught nothing; nevertheless at Your word I will let down the net.” And when they had done this, they caught a great number of fish, and their net was breaking. So they signaled to their partners in the other boat to come and help them. And they came and filled both the boats, so that they began to sink. When Simon Peter saw it, he fell down at Jesus’ knees, saying, “Depart from me, for I am a sinful man, O Lord!” Luke 5:1-8
A month with God, a week with God, a day with God, an hour with God, a minute with God, I believe can bring about a great transformation in our lives.
When God wants to bless a man or changes a man's life, He doesn't need a lot of time to do that. The years you may spent somewhere doesn't matter to God than the time you can spend with Him. If God wants to bless a man He can use just a second for that purpose.
I have come to believe that the supernatural workings of God takes a moment, and in most times it is rather the human or satanic interference which causes delay.
When Jacob had left home and settled with his uncle Laban, he spent as much as twenty years with him and became a subject to his cunning and manipulative ways. May God send a release to come to you in any place you have been incarcerated in Jesus name.
These twenty years I have been with you; your ewes and your female goats have not miscarried their young, and I have not eaten the rams of your flock. That which was torn by beasts I did not bring to you; I bore the loss of it. You required it from my hand, whether stolen by day or stolen by night. There I was! In the day the drought consumed me, and the frost by night, and my sleep departed from my eyes. Thus I have been in your house twenty years; I served you fourteen years for your two daughters, and six years for your flock, and you have changed my wages ten times. Unless the God of my father, the God of Abraham and the Fear of Isaac, had been with me, surely now you would have sent me away empty-handed. God has seen my affliction and the labor of my hands, and rebuked you last night.” Genesis 31:38-42
Jacob after narrating his sad story felt something was wrong. To continue his journey home, he needed a moment with the God of his fathers. The bible says he wouldn't go with the rest of the family. He wanted a moment with God. For twenty years with a man he had been manipulated and remained broke but with just a night with God he became blessed and fearless.
And he arose that night and took his two wives, his two female servants, and his eleven sons, and crossed over the ford of Jabbok. He took them, sent them over the brook, and sent over what he had. Then Jacob was left alone; and a Man wrestled with him until the breaking of day. Now when He saw that He did not prevail against him, He touched the socket of his hip; and the socket of Jacob’s hip was out of joint as He wrestled with him. And He said, “Let Me go, for the day breaks.” But he said, “I will not let You go unless You bless me!” So He said to him, “What is your name?”He said, “Jacob.” And He said, “Your name shall no longer be called Jacob, but Israel; for you have struggled with God and with men, and have prevailed. Genesis 32:22-28
