I want today to tell the story of a woman who had been ministered by Jesus. She had genuinely repented, her heart was full of gratitude and love for Christ.
That is why her eyes began to change and what was seen in her was:
Tears for Jesus. Everyone knew her as a sinful woman, but her selfless demonstration of unreserved worship changed the way everyone remembers her now. Jesus was in Bethany, in the house of a man known as Simon the leper. "Then a woman of the city, who was a sinner, knowing that Jesus was at the table in the house of the Pharisee, brought a bottle of alabaster with perfume, and being behind him, crying, began to water with tears. and he hath mopped them with his hair, and kissed his feet, and anointed them with perfume "(Luke 7: 37-38).
Can you imagine the depth of that woman's crying? - And that her tears were enough to cleanse the dusty feet of Jesus! - Imagine the gratitude that she had, that made her demonstrate with such courage her devotion and adoration to the man who was sitting at the table.
I had heard him speak of the Kingdom of heaven, he had understood the heart of the Lord, he saw the miracles he did, and he freed himself from his old way of life because he accepted it with affection.
With tears that flowed from a sobbing heart, I wash the tired feet of the lord and wipe them with the strands of his hair. Then I perfume his feet with oil from his alabaster vessel, valued at one year's salary.
Wow... what an expression of love, of this woman, for her lord! - perhaps how much it cost her to collect that salary, which was valued after a year of work- There were no limits to the love she felt for Jesus, when others they disapproved of his extravagance, Jesus spoke to them firmly (lucas 7; 43-47). Oh, to have the opportunity to kiss the beautiful feet of Jesus...
Genuine tears, with humility and pain for having sinned, move Jesus, crying at his feet is the most sublime act of adoration that a mortal can have; they are an expression of humility and recognition of our condition and need of Him.
