To practice Christianity one must understand leadership, but to comprehend is to understand authority. The issue in life and leadership is always authority.
When we doubt or deny scripture, we are destroying our faith. Until authority is settled, nothing of real value is settled. We must emphasize the truth of Scripture, the significance of Scripture, and the authority of Scripture.
When we do not get this right, all else is in vain. Authority uoes not smite us, suppress us, or embarrass us. Authority does not belong to us. It is the primary principle in Scripture. Seemingly, a man who is not under authority solves everything.
Submission is always the key issues; submission resolves any authority issue. Submission to biblical authority brings about humble service.
We must love the truth, learn the truth, live the truth and teach the truth. In the final judgment, we will be judged by the truth.
Authority is the legal right and power to enforce laws, exact obedience, command, determine, or judge. It involves great influence. Authority demands submission. Jesus taught this in “The Parable of the Pounds” .
The faithful increased the amounts of money entrusted to them. The unfaithful said, “We do not want this man to reign over us.
Authority Is Not The Same As Power
Authority is based ultimately upon the consent of those under it. God commands, but He does not violate our free moral agency. The “humility of God” leaves Him at our mercy. We can reject or rebel. God does not overwhelm you.
Concerning the meaning of “Authority,” our mindset must be totally changed. The King James Version did us a disservice in translating “authority" as “power" in Matthew 28:18-20.
In our minds “power” is force, coercion. The gospel must never be abused or misused. The pulpit must never be reduced to a weapon.
According to CB Hodge, Gospel preaching is not “beating people on their heads." Producing servants, not “leaders", would solve most of our problem.
Authority is responsibility and accountability. It is not coercive power. The more authority one shares, the more he has.
Authority lost can be regained. It cannot be regained by words, but only by deeds. Mistrust and distrust can be replaced by earned trust. God's people are here to lead sheep, not drive goats. We are here to convert, not coerce. .
Are we more impressed with power or a person? Do we want power or a person? We do not have to see “eye to eye" to‘ walk “hand in hand". Asking, “Is it scriptural?” is not meanness, legalism, or being “right-wing.” An honest truth seeker is not a legalist.
Sadly, we do not hear the phrase “back to the Bible” much anymore. We must beware of people with secret, mystical knowledge.
Jerome of Stridonium said it best:
“The Scripture are shallow enough for a babe to come and drink without fear of drowning and deep enough for theologians to swim in without ever reaching the bottom ."
The Leadership Of The Steemchurch
The Leader of the steemchurch understands AUTHORITY, He is responsible and accountable.
The more authority one shares, the more he has.
He shared authority amongst the Apostles of the church thereby increasing the authority and influence of the church on the blockchain.
He is a natural born leader blessed with a heart of understanding to know that Full Authority belongs to God and we are just tools in the hands of the creator.
