2 Timothy 1:7
[7]For God did not give us a spirit of timidity (of cowardice, of craven and cringing and fawning fear), but [He has given us a spirit] of power and of love and of calm and well-balanced mind and discipline and self-control.
Most times when faced with challenges we easily lose hope due to how difficult they are, most of us out of fear don't even make attempt to overcome such challenges. We accept defeat even before we seek for solutions to them, hence, losing hope in the process. But the above scripture brings to our notice that God has not given us the spirit of fear or timidity, but of
Power
Power to face that problem, challenge, situation, e.t.c head-on and overcome.
Love
In spite of what you're up against it never changes your love for God and your fellow brothers. The love of Christ still dwells in you.
Calm
No matter how big the problem might be, there's this calmness, peace and assurance that you have, because you know you're already victorious.
Well-balanced mind and discipline
Your problem doesn't affect how you carry out your daily activities, your response to people, e.t.c, when people see you they see someone filled with joy, and peace. You still remain the organized, lively, hardworking e.t.c person you're known as irrespective of the difficulty of your problem.
Self-control
Even when the devil, family, friends, and co-workers try to discourage you into giving in, into accepting defeat, there's this self-control you're given over your spirit which in turn refuses to accept defeat.
