Community Dear!
"Epaphras in globalization".
Biblical context
...You learned it from Epaphras, our beloved servant, who is a faithful minister of Christ on our behalf. Colossians 1: 7
The sacred pages are full of examples of people who broke boundaries and dedicated their lives in proclaiming the message of the Good News to the world. Epaphras is one of those characters who decided to live intensely the truths of the Gospel.
Some Biblical interpreters say:
Epaphras, probably, became Ephesus and after being instructed by the Apostle Paul, he returned to his home in Colosseum, in order to proclaim the Good News of salvation. And the result was the birth of the Church of Colosenses.
With the growth of that community, problems soon arose and Epaphras sought Paul to be guided on these issues. Pablo was imprisoned under house arrest. When Epaphras finds him, he decides to help him and pray for the church in Colosa.
At the end of his letter, Paul quotes Epaphras and how he supported that church in prayer, striving so that the brothers could know God's plans.
"Epaphras greets you, who is one of you, a servant of Christ Jesus, always fighting for you in your prayers, so that they may keep you firm, perfect and fully secure in all of God's will" (Colossians 4.12)
He struggled, struggled in prayer on behalf of the Christians of Colosa. Prayer instead of work is one of the greatest undertakings we can undertake so that the will of God can be established on Earth. God wants to awaken to the true dimension of prayer where he positions us as channels so that his plans are fulfilled throughout the Earth.
Epaphras not only prayed and interceded for the brothers of Colossus, but said that he interceded for the churches of Laodicea and Hierapolis. (Colossians 4:13)
He held three cities in prayer, contributing to the fulfillment of divine purposes in those places. What a wonderful example we can see in that man's life!
At that time, geographic knowledge was limited and there was no concept of ** Globalization ** so mentioned in our century and yet, we know that this man was helping Pablo in jail, praying for the Colosa brothers, as well as by brothers from two other cities.
God allow that in the chain of blocks we can have men and women constant in prayer as Epaphras, who pray for the cities that are unassisted, for the exploited countries, for the poor, ect
When we think of Epaphras in relation to our days, we observe that we live in a globalized world; that emerged from the decade of the 70s and that made possible the union of countries and peoples. This union gives us the feeling that the planet is getting smaller and smaller with the advance of communication via the internet, making information faster and faster. Generating thus, several benefits; as ease to travel, quick access to all types of information, among others.
GLOBAL AWARENESS
One of the tips I received from was: write in steemchurch globally, to the world in general, clearly and accurately.
It is in the face of this reality that God is awakening the Church to that global consciousness, where our actions will go beyond local, regional limits and will go beyond borders, influencing nations, continents, with the good news of salvation. And like Epaphras, who served Paul in prison, but also prayed for the churches located in three cities; Today we can use steemy other information networks and pray for changes in our Countries.
If my people, on whom my name is invoked, will humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sins, and I will heal their land.
2 Chronicles 7:14
May our prayers, confessions of faith and actions surpass the territorial limits and influence countries and continents, so that in these last days the knowledge of the Lord may be raised throughout the Earth.
May we be the Epaphras of that generation!
