Dear Community!
Today I observed a writing on a battered sheet on the floor, with the following phrases:
"He who does not live to serve, does not serve to live"
At first it seemed a degrading phrase, then I thought that in a way, it has some logic.
Service to others is the greatest responsibility that any of us will come to fulfill, which for us can only be a small action, for someone else, it can completely mark the direction of your life and always for the better.
Our Lord Jesus Christ knew this, there is no greater satisfaction than knowing that we serve our neighbor.
The greatest among you must be a servant. For everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, and everyone who humbles himself will be exalted.
(Matthew 23.11-12)
Serving is a humble attitude that pleases God. Every Christian is called to serve. If we say we are Christians, then we do what Christ did. Christ was our greatest example of service!
Do not limit the service, or complain! The service associated with a correct heart shapes its character.
So, do not miss opportunities to serve others. Like Jesus, we are not here to command others to serve us, but we are the first to place ourselves in the position of servants, with joy.
Jesus called them and said: "You know that those who are considered rulers of the nations dominate them, and the important people exercise power over them, it will not be like that among you, on the contrary, whoever wants to become important among you must be a servant; and whoever wants to be the first must be the slave of all, for not even the Son of man came to be served, but to serve and give his life as a ransom for many. " (Mark 10.42-45)
Through the servant's heart that Jesus possessed, today we live an excellent life with Him. Jesus gave his life for the rescue of many, including you, and what we are doing with that? Serve with joy, as he did.
"Let us dedicate ourselves to each other with brotherly love, prefer to honor others more than you, never miss zeal, be fervent in spirit, serve the Lord." (Romans 12: 10-11)
His role with his brothers is to leave his life lighter than his. Jesus did not think of his own life, but thought of ours so that they may live well, He was only a servant! So, do not miss opportunities to serve and leave things lighter for other people.
At home with your family, at church with your leaders, at school, at work ... Be Jesus to the people! Serving is also a strong and intense attitude of love!
A Friend always tells me:
Do beyond the ordinary, in addition to what is your obligation! You will know that you are on the right path when people tell you that you are too stupid to do what you do! Do not worry, God exalts the humble!
Never forget these phrases of Jesus Christ:
...as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.
Matthew 20:28
