Sacrifice:

The word sacrifice means that something is given up in order to benefit another person. Sacrifice is being willing to give up something good for something even better. Often, the greater the dream or vision, the greater the shared sacrifice required to attain it. Sacrifice is easier when we stay focused on what we are choosing rather than what we are giving up.

John 15:13

"Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends."
