Faith is a substance of things hoped for, an evidence of things not seen.
In Matthew 17:20,
And Jesus said unto them, Because of your unbelief: for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you.
Faith comes by hearing God's Word but faith grows by acting on God's Word. You give life to your faith by taking active steps in line with your faith and walking in obedience to God's Word and leading. Faith that doesn‘t Show itself by good works is no faith at all-it is dead and useless.
Judges 6:27
So Gideon took ten of his servants and did just as the LORD had told him. He was too afraid of his father’s family and the men of the city to do it in broad daylight, so he waited until nighttime.
You may not exercise it perfectly at first, but if you start to do what God has said you should do, He will release more of His grace unto you, strengthen and perfect you at what He has purposed for you to do. Although Gideon was still fearful, he stepped out and did what God had instructed him to do and God backed him up. As you remain faithful with your little faith, God will give you more.
jesus declared that signs and wonders will follow those that believe(mark 16:17)
God is the one who gives faith
Faith is not just ordinary believing, hope, positive thinking, or logical reasoning.
Sometimes people say that we use faith all the time and they give the illustration of sitting on a chair that they
expect will not break. (“I'll just sit on this chair and I believe that it's not going to break.”)
But that's not real Bible faith: that's an expectation that's the result of reasoning and experience.
The chair looks stable enough and I've never had one collapse before.
But that's not real faith – real Bible faith is a gift of God – it is spiritual.
Nor is faith just a matter of getting a good idea and expecting God to bless it.
With faith, God is the initiator.
We may be able to stir up our faith but we cannot manufacture it – God gives it by an act of His grace.
Ephesians 2:8
For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God,
Bible faith has a spiritual dimension because it comes as a direct result of the activity of the Holy Spirit.
God has given each of His children a measure of faith.
You might feel that you don't have much to offer, but nevertheless God, as an act of His grace, has given you a measure of faith.
That doesn't mean that's all we can have.
You can therefore achievement anything in life if only you believe.
