Both the virtues of love and forgiveness are human attributes of God. In the scriptures, John the Divine stated in his epistle saying, “And so we know and rely on the love God has for us. God is love whoever lives in love lives in God and God in him” ( 1 JN 4:16). To have an ideal home, the duo – essentials are love and forgiveness. The magnitude of the principles of love and forgiveness were glaringly taught by Jesus Christ in His doctrines to educate His followers. He also did not only teach these principles expressly as a Christian culture but He personally demonstrated them in His Salvitic ministry on earth. Brethren, the importance and significance of love and forgiveness as the Christian way of life are embodied in the real and true Christian living because without them Christianity has neither meaning nor direction but lacks her savoury, flavours, goals and objectives. As Christian ideal, always sue for peace and forgiveness through unconditional love.
Unless we give out true love and also receive the enduring love as an exchange among members of the same family peace will also elude the home. To allow peace and harmony to reign in homes, the family members would be challenged to reflect patience in their individual interactions. In the course of living together as one family patiently welcome others’ human weaknesses because without this nothing grows to maturity. Homes are broken today due to impatience, and all kinds of evil present in our society today are somehow attributable to impatience, lack of love and unforgiveness. Dare to be different in your home and your approach to life. Just operate within divine principles and you will make a difference in your generation. Endeavour to do this in order to add more values to the approved standard of marital togetherness and unity. Do not give up in anything worthwhile until you accomplish your desire and mission in this God given vocation, for it is a noble course.
Here are some of the challenges against Christian homes:
(1) Infidelity
(2) Lack of True Love
(3) Suspicion
(4) Aggression
(5) Quarreling and Nagging
(6) Prayerfulness
(7) Lack of Attention and Appreciation
