The tongue possesses unspeakable
power.
Proverbs 18:21 tells us that;
“Death and life are in the power of the tongue.”
The mouth is the open door to the soul,it could be a blessing or a curse.
Psalm 21:23
"Those who guard their mouths and their tongues keep themselves from calamity."
Jesus said in Matthew 15:18
"Those things which proceed out of the mouth come from the heart, and they defile a man.”
Peter, quoting Psalm 34:12-13,
“He who would love life and see
good days, Let him restrain his tongue
from evil, And his lips from speaking
deceit.”
A disdainful heart won't speak supportive and healing words.
James 3:8
"but no human being can tame the tongue. It is a restless evil, full of deadly poison."
However God can! It is my expectation and supplication for me, and for each individual who calls Jesus Lord, that God will so fill our heart and accordingly control our tongue,
Proverbs 16:24
"Pleasant words are as an honeycomb, sweet to the soul, and health to the bones"

*An indiscreet word may cause strife and anger
*A cruel word may wreck a life;
*A bitter word may destroy and smite,
*A brutal word will achieve nothing; but
*A benevolent word may smooth the way.
*A joyful word may light up a day;
*A caring word may decrease pressure.
*A loving word may recuperate and favor.
It was said of Jesus in John 7:46,
"No man ever spoke like this Man.”
As we live in the power of His grace, may it be that others will say the same of us.
May our words be a blessing unto others!!
Also let us pray that the lord help us to control the words from our mouth;
Psalm 141:3
Set a guard over my mouth, LORD; keep watch over the door of my lips
Only the spiritually inclined and those matured in christ can control their tongue. It is an unmistakable evidence of God’s work of grace in their life.
