In chapter 17, verses 1 through 8, of the Gospel of Saint Matthew, we can read the following:
Reading this passage quickly leads us to think about the divine nature of Jesus.
But, for us, those of us who live in this moment, what does it tell us?
Is it possible that we can contemplate a moment like the one described?
In verses 1 and 2 we see that Jesus took Peter, James and John, and took them to a high mountain, where they were alone. This mountain is known as Mount Tabor.
In our spiritual life we experience growth, just as a child moves from one stage to another. Guided by the hand of Jesus we can reach a high enough state, being alone with him.
How many times have we not experienced a sense of pleasure in praying, so much that it causes us to say: "it is wonderful for us to be here".
In those moments Jesus makes us share his divine nature. A condition to which we are called: "you will be like gods".
So, yes, it is possible to contemplate an experience like Pedro, Santiago and Juan.
Nowadays, the mountain looks as this.
There is an invitation: let us build an inner temple as a tabernacle for Jesus and us!
And pray in place like this, alone.
God bless us.
