There are moments in our life where we need to stop, where it is essential to reflect on what we are doing and be sure that this is from God. Many times we are guided by our emotions, believing that what we feel is what the Holy Spirit is leading us to do, when in truth we are putting our emotions before God's will.
It is good to stop in life and ask the Lord: My God, do you like what I am doing or what I am going to do? Although many times it seems that what God is sending you to do is meaningless, you have to do it, through what is logical for you, God will show you that in his plans it was the right thing to do.
Sometimes we are aware that what we are doing is incorrect, but for some strange reason we do nothing to change what we very well know we have to change. It seems that we are specialists to do the opposite of what God wants us to do, so people smoke, use drugs, consume alcohol, and many more things that we know will hurt us.
When I reflect on this to my mind comes the figure of Jonah, the man whom God appointed to carry a message to a very difficult city like Nineveh, perhaps he feared for his life, because the people of Nineveh were bad, therefore he decided go to the opposite side, starting towards tarsus. But there was a great storm and the ship was shipwrecked and Jonah was thrown into the sea and swallowed by a fish in whose entrails and darkness passed three days of torment, and then spit by the fish on the shores of the Nineveh Sea, where he should take the message.
Today God calls you to do his will and take the message of the gospel to a difficult people, where evil abounds, do not go to the opposite side, because you will have to learn from pain as jomas. Ho is a good day where we can reflect on what we are doing, ask the Lord if He is pleased with what we do or what we think. There is nothing better than trying to please him, even if it costs us a lot, although our human nature would like the opposite, but nevertheless pleasing God will bring beautiful results and special blessings.
Doing your will, my God, has pleased me and your law is in the middle of my heart. (Psalm 40-8)
God bless you greatly
