God is the judge; to this humiliation, and to that he exalts.
Psalm 75: 7
A lucid look at the world and its history leads us to think that God plays a key role in protecting it. In this world, violence and cunning, allies of interest and pride, seem to dominate everything. Be it individuals or peoples, often the force takes precedence over the law. For this reason, humanity has long ago been able to fall into total chaos, or be subject to an individual or a race whose power would have destroyed or enslaved the opponents.
However, this only occurred partially, despite so much hatred, deadly violence and so many efforts by various leaders to establish a universal domain. Why? Because at one time or another, an unforeseen event or a series of small imperceptible circumstances destroyed the power that seemed to dominate everything, they raised another, they restored the balance, and this caused the life of humanity to continue its course.
This mysterious intervention that changes the course of history in an instant was called fatality, destiny, chance, or even natural justice. Through the Bible we know that God, sovereign and just, continues the execution of his plans: He will have the last word in human history, just as he had the first word (Hebrews 11: 3). Evil seems to dominate a moment, but God's love and justice will triumph in the end. They already triumphed in the lives of many people who believed in him!
The Most High has dominion in the kingdom of men, and gives it to whomever he wants.
Daniel 4:32
