Jesus ... said to them: Why do you bother this woman? He has done a good deed with me. Because you will always have poor people with you, but you will not always have me.
Matthew 26: 10-11
In several parables Jesus evokes the daily life of women. Through their various activities, these women illustrate different aspects of the life of a disciple of Christ.
We have the example
Of the widow who obtained the favor of the unjust judge,
The one of the woman who looked for the lost coin, illustration of perseverance in prayer.
We also have the example of the young women who prepared the oil of their lamps while waiting for the Lord, etc. In her own way, each of these stories, which Jesus told for our teaching, shows us how Jesus appreciates the attitude and service of Christian women who wish to please God.
When Martha reproached Jesus for not having told Mary to help him, he answered her in a surprising way: "Marta, Marta, busy and upset you are with many things. But only one thing is necessary; and Mary has chosen the good part, which will not be taken away from her "(Luke 10: 41-42). This response invites us to seek "the good part", that is, to listen to the message of Jesus.
There are many women that Jesus cites as an example: a widow who gave all her sustenance for the service of the temple; Mary, for her generosity and attachment to Christ; even a foreigner who asked Jesus to save her daughter. Excited by this woman's faith, Jesus told her: "Oh woman, great is your faith; Ask yourself as you wish "(Matthew 15:28). Praising the faith of this foreigner, Jesus showed that God not only reveals himself to the Jews, but to all the men and women who go to him with faith.
These women marked the life of our Lord Jesus Christ and today are a great example for our lives, a life like the ones they had with these diverse qualities are the ones that today Jesus looks for our life, in the bible it reflects the living of these women and attention to the teacher.
Today we must ask God to teach us to have those beautiful qualities.
