Text of the day: 1 Timothy 6:1-10
it is possible for a person to locate his destiny and not be able to achieve it. Gehazi actually located his destiny .He started on the course of fulfilling his destiny ; he had started his apprenticeship with his master, but he had a problem he wanted to get to the top in one day. He was not a patient person . He lacked endurance. He could not withstand suffering or pain. He wanted the good things of life very fast. He wanted to "wear what his master was wearing". He wanted money at all cost. When he saw the opportunity to make it", even though it was not the right way, he jumped at it. At the end of the day, he ended up with leprosy. The talents that God gave him to become a great servant of God, was wasted.
In 2 kings 5:19-20. The Bible says,
Go in peace, " Elisha said after Naaman had travelled some distance Gehazi the servant of Elisha the man of God, said to himself, "My master was too easy on Naaman this Aramean by not accepting from him what he brought. As surely as the lord lives, i will run after him and get something from him."
I want you to imagine if Gehazi actually become the person God created him to be. Imagine how his life could have been. If you study Gehazi's behaviour very well, you will discover that he was easily distracted as he made other people's business his own business. In 2 kings 4:11-15,the bible says
"One day when Elisha came, he went up to his room and lay down there. He said to his servant Gehazi call the shunammite." So he called her, and she stood before him . Elisha said to him, Tell her, you have gone to all this trouble for us. Now what can be done for you? ...."' She replied, "I have a home among my own people." What can be done for her?" Elisha asked. Gehazi said well she has no son and her husband is old." Then Elisha said call her." So he called her." So he called her, and she stood in the doorway. "About this time next year," Elisha said, "you will hold a son in your arms."..."
Do you get easily distracted like Gehazi are you focused on your destiny?
