Gospel? What is the gospel?
The gospel is good news or "joyful proclamation of the redemptive activity of God in Christ Jesus, to save man from the bondage of sin." The gospel is to announce, proclaim or bring good news of salvation to humanity.
Now, let us make important and very specific notes, based on the writing, we answer the following questions:
What is the effect of the people listening to the gospel?
The good news announces to the people the presence of God for judgment and restoration, that is found in (Isaiah 40: 9)
For whom was the gospel made?
The gospel is as much for Jews as for Gentiles, that is found in (Isaiah 40: 5, 45: 23-25, 49: 6, 51: 4)
Who was delegated the responsibility to bring the good news?
Those responsible for carrying or proclaiming the gospel are men and women (Isaiah 52: 7; 71: 1) but God acts in that proclamation (Isaiah 55:11). The first to announce this gospel was John the Baptist (Luke 3:18), later Jesus himself (Mark 1:14). In both proclamations the gospel is the sign par excellence of the arrival of the Messiah (Matthew 11: 5, Thessalonians 61: 1).
Is the earth just matter or does it have something of the sky?
The kingdom of God is present on earth and Christ preaches and announces the gospel (Luke 8: 1).
What does the old testament include with the good news?
In the Old Testament the good news of the gospel includes righteousness or justification (Psalm 40: 9) and salvation and peace (Isaiah 52: 7).
What does the new testament say about that gospel?
In the New Testament, Jesus Christ is the gospel itself, and his work makes salvation, justification and peace for the world real (Acts 10:36, Romans 1:16, Ephesians 2:17, 1 Peter 1:23).
What was the fact that undeniably marks this gospel?
The gospel is sealed with the propitiatory death of Christ (1 Corinthians 15:14). It is the message of reconciliation with God; and we are collaborators in his proclamation (1 Corinthians 5:20).
What is at the end for those who heard the gospel?
In the final Judgment, men will be judged according to their response to the gospel (2 Thessalonians 1: 8; 1 Peter 4:17).
