Brothers and Sisters, our youthful time brings all sort of deviant behaviors, it is a stage where we sometimes allow ourselves for the Devil to fill our hearts with sins or evils. At this stage we love to mingle with so many people of our age to share much of our experiences and what we think we are capable of doing, especially different talents that we think we have but our colleagues do not have. It comes with a unique passion, some strange happiness and abnormal excitement and lust which we sometimes demonstrate for others to know that we are now grown up.
All these are the youthful passion that Apostle Paul is admonishing us to desist from them since they lead us to miss the glory of God which has been offered us. As the elder Brother, Paul advises Timothy and other members of the church, since most people are tempted during this youthful age.
"So free youthful passions and pursue righteousness, faith, love, and peace, along with those who call on the Lord from a pure heart. Have nothing to do with foolish, ignorant controversies; you know that they breed quarrels. And the Lord servant must not be quarrelsome but kind to everyone, able to teach, patiently enduring evil, correcting his opponents with gentleness. God may perhaps grant them repentance leading to knowledge of the truth, and they may come to their senses and escape from the snare of devil, after being capture by him to do his will."(2 Timothy 2:22-26)
Our youthful age should not be joked with, since most youth are just deceived easily by the devil. This the stage where we can be used to serve God, the youth people are energetic. For that matter we can be used to promote God's work effectively, especially in the area of evangelical work, preaching and singing. We will be blessed if we are able to devote our time for God's work.
